Jed Lowrie Still With No Timeline To Appear In Games
5 years agoNew York Mets infielder Jed Lowrie (leg) still has no timeline to appear in Grapefruit League games due to lingering left leg injuries. Although he is fully participating in drills, he is sporting a large brace on his left leg that is preventing him from getting into games. Lowrie missed nearly all of last season with left knee and hamstring injuries. In 2018 when he was last healthy, Lowrie hit .267 with 23 home runs and 99 RBI over the course of a full season with Oakland. If he can finally overcome these injuries, Lowrie will function in a utility infielder role. As a utility infielder, it would take an injury to Jeff McNeil, Robinson Cano and/or Amed Rosario to guarantee consistent playing time for him in 2020. As such, even when healthy, Lowrie is nothing more than a late-round selection as bench depth in NL-only formats
