5 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (ankle) said that he is getting close to his spring training debut and expects to be ready to go for Opening Day later this month. Bogaerts has yet to appear in any game action after suffering ankle soreness early in camp, but the 27-year-old stated that he is feeling pretty close to 100 percent and thinks he can join the Red Sox lineup later this week. With the injury not expected to affect his status for the beginning of the season, Bogaerts should be one of the first shortstops selected in drafts this spring after producing a dominant season in 2019.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
