Martin Truex Jr. Has Work Cut Out For Him in California
5 years agoMartin Truex Jr.'s run for his third straight top 10 finish at Fontana is going to be a challenging one. The No. 19 Joe Gibbs Toyota wasn't allowed to lay down a qualifying time after failing tech inspection three times before the session. It is not all bad news for Truex, however. He ranked third in both 10 and 15-lap averages in the final practice session for the race on Sunday. Fantasy owners should feel confident in Truex's ability to put together a solid run as well. He rolled off 27th last season before finishing the race in eighth. Truex also ranks second in fantasy points among active Cup drivers across his past 10 starts at two-mile ovals. At the current price tag of the fifth highest in DFS, owners should be cautious.
