Xander Bogaerts A Few Days Away From Game Action
5 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said that shortstop Xander Bogaerts (ankle) could be ready to play in Grapefruit League games in "a few days." Bogaerts is dealing with some ankle soreness, but the injury isn't serious and the Red Sox are just exercising caution with their star shortstop. Barring any setbacks, he should be fine for Opening Day. The 27-year-old two-time All-Star hit a sublime .309/.384/.555 with a career-high 33 home runs, 117 RBI, 110 runs and four steals in 155 games in 2019. It might be hard for him to reach those heights again in 2020, but Bogaerts is an easy top-10 fantasy option at his position and will come off the board in the early rounds.
