Justin Verlander Throws Simulated Game
5 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander (groin) threw a simulated game on the day he was scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut. The session "went as good as I could have hoped" according to Verlander as he simulated two innings worth of work. The injury does not appear to be serious and the veteran opted to use a more controlled environment to build up his pitch count after feeling discomfort earlier in the week. At this point, this all seems to be precautionary in the early stages of spring training. Verlander should be considered one of the top pitchers off the fantasy board come draft time.
