Ryan Borucki No Longer In Competition For Rotation
5 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Ryan Borucki played catch on Monday after experiencing discomfort in his elbow last week. He felt good after the session, but manager Charlie Montoyo has ruled him out of contention for making the starting rotation since he's too far behind schedule. This narrows the candidates for the fifth spot down to Trent Thornton, Anthony Kay, and Shun Yamaguchi. Thornton appears as the early favorite for the job since he made 29 starts for the club in 2019, but there's a long way to go before the decision will be made.
