Ryan Blaney Moves To Backup Car Ahead Of Daytona 500
5 years agoRyan Blaney will start Sunday's Daytona 500 at the rear of the field. Blaney's team determined that the damage suffered in an incident between the No. 96 Gaunt Brothers Racing Toyota of Daniel Suarez during Thursday's Duel race was too severe to repair. Blaney finished 14th in the Duel, setting his original starting position of 27th for the race Sunday. While Blaney will certainly have his work cut out for himself and his team, fantasy owners should still feel confident in starting him this week. At Daytona, Blaney has the highest average running position, driver rating and one of the highest average finishes in the field.
