Hello RotoBallers and thanks for joining me for The Genesis Invitational! My name is Tommy Bell, and in this article you will find my favorite DraftKings DFS value plays for this week's PGA tournament. You can find me on Twitter for all things PGA banter @BellRoto. Give me a follow!
It can be tough to define "value" and that task is made tough because the makeup of each PGA slate is different, which makes it difficult to put a concrete DFS price on what exactly "value" is. So, this article will regularly include plays that are obviously great salary savers, but may also include plays that are "underpriced" or stick out as a great value when compared to their form, course history, or other players in the field.

The Genesis Invitational: Value Play Notes
A loaded invitational tournament at Riviera Golf Course this year leads to a star-studded value list from yours truly. This should be a fun week of golf with plenty of big names to go around, and we can only hope our Saturday/Sunday rounds go better than Pebble Beach last a few days ago. The course will play around 7,322 yards, which actually plays longer due to some shorter par 5s and longer par 4s. As such, we'll want to target some of the longer hitters who can also hit greens with their longer irons to try to keep up with the big dawgs at the top of the DK price pool. Let's get to it!

Patrick Reed - DraftKings: $8,600
One of the most polarizing players on tour seems like he'll be a bit of a roller coaster to roster in DFS this year. Two great finishes paired with two ugly cuts so far. Even still, this price sticks out like a sore thumb. He's an above average ball striker with fantastic touch around the green, which should come into play on some tough Par 4s. I also just love his competitive drive to win at all costs every time he picks up the sticks. Reed is a nice higher-end player to start what seems to be a lot of balanced builds this week.
Collin Morikawa - DraftKings: $8,100
If you've watched Morikawa at all in his young career thus far, you have no choice but to admit this guy can hang with the best of them. He's placed in the top 25 in all four tournaments to start the season, and there's a T-7 thrown in there at the Sentry Tournament of Champions against some of the best golfers in the world. This is his first time playing here, so I'm slightly hesitant for that reason, but that's baked into this price point. Morikawa has struck the ball very well of late, and I expect that to continue as he turns a few heads late in the weekend.
Sungjae Im - DraftKings: $8,000
I don't have much to say here. Im is one of my favorite golfers on tour, and his fantastic ball striking is the main reason why. When he gets dialed in with his irons and he's an average putter, he WILL be at the top of the leaderboard. If he putts above average too, he's winning the whole dang thing. This price is way too cheap to not consider Im a value play in this tournament.
Scottie Scheffler - DraftKings: $7,400
It's the week of the young phenoms. Scheffler isn't quite at the Morikawa level in terms of consistency yet, but he really came on at the end of last year, and he snagged a solo third finish a the American Express a few weeks ago. He's very long off the tee, highly regarded as the next best skilled golfer coming up, and a couple of cuts the past two weeks have his price way down. Scheffler is another one who can be in the mix with the big boys come Sunday if he has a good first couple of days.
Rafa Cabrera Bello - DraftKings: $7,300
Two main positives come to mind when I consider rostering Rafa at this price point. For one, Cabrera Bello always plays his best in tough fields. When the scores are a touch lower and birdies without major mistakes are important, he seems to find his way to the top. Secondly, he has loads of confidence in his longer irons, and that should lead to more success than the field on these brutal par 4s. I'm a huge fan of rounding out lineups with RCB at The Genesis Invitational.
