D'Angelo Russell Sent to 'Wolves in Massive Trade
5 years agoGolden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell has been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Andrew Wiggins. The Warriors are also sending guard Jacob Evans and forward Omari Spellman to Minnesota. It seemed likely that the Wolves would make a move for a point guard after trading Jeff Teague, but trading for Russell is huge. Russell's fantasy value should increase with the Wolves and having Karl-Anthony Towns at center is also a plus for him. Wiggins will be starting and is expected to be the primary playmaker with Stephen Curry (hand) still sidelined. The Warriors will also receive a 2021 protected first-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick in the trade.
