Patty Mills Fires Only From Long Range In Defeat
Patty Mills clearly saw no incentive to stepping inside the three-point line during Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, but he shot 6-for-13 from behind the arc en route to an 18-point showing. It marks the second time this season that Mills had zero two-point field goals attempted. But his double-digit scoring effort marks his fourth consecutive contest reaching that plateau, as Mills has become uber-aggressive from long range as of late, attempting an average of nine triples on a nightly basis over his last seven games. He has made multiple threes in each of those outings, making him a viable streaming play in category leagues for the foreseeable future.

Patty Mills Signing With Utah
Patty Mills agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Jazz. The 36-year-old started last season with the Hawks but was waived. He eventually signed with the Heat, playing in 13 regular season contests and averaging 5.8 points and 1.5 assists. The Jazz have a young backcourt featuring Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, and Collin Sexton, so it will be difficult for anyone to get minutes. But Mills will provide invaluable leadership and guidance to a team in rebuilding mode. However, his days as a reliable fantasy option have been over for years.

Patty Mills Hopes To Continue Career
Patty Mills wants to continue his playing career. Mills will turn 36 in August but is eager to remain in the NBA after splitting the 2023-24 campaign between Atlanta and Miami. "I take really good care of myself and my body and the plan is to continue to play until the wheels fall off is how I see it," Mills told Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Mills, who won the NBA championship with San Antonio in 2014, has mostly been used as a veteran presence on teams in recent seasons. He was limited to 13.0 minutes and 4.0 points in 32 appearances in 2023-24.

Patty Mills Waived By Hawks
Patty Mills. The 35-year-old leaves the team after averaging just 10.6 minutes of action across 19 games in 2023-24. The team made the move to covert Trent Forrest's two-way contract into a standard deal. Forrest, who's playing his fourth year in the league, has had a similar role to Mills, featuring in 20 games and averaging 10.5 minutes, but he's a much younger player and could offer a lot more to the team going forward. However, Forrest has yet to make an impact in the NBA, with his career averages standing at 2.8 points and 1.7 assists.

Patty Mills On The Move Again
Patty Mills to Atlanta on Saturday. In exchange, the Thunder will receive Rudy Gay, Usman Garuba, TyTy Washington Jr., and a second-round pick. Mills, who has been traded three times in the last 10 days, averaged 6.2 points in 40 games with the Nets last season. However, the 34-year-old may not remain in Atlanta, considering he's on an attractive $6.8 million expiring contract. At any rate, Mills' role will be contingent on where he eventually ends up. While he may get some chances to produce in 2023-24, he likely won't be a consistent fantasy contributor.
