Mookie Betts Expected To Be Traded
5 years agoTrade talks involving Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts continue to progress, and it's now expected that he's traded either Monday or Tuesday. There seems to be good momentum for the Dodgers landing the superstar outfielder, but the Padres are still in the mix and were still talking to Boston as of Sunday. If he were to be dealt to Los Angeles, the Red Sox could also work it out so that starting pitcher David Price is included in the package. The Padres would need to give up significant prospects in order to convince the Red Sox to take on the rest of outfielder Wil Myers' contract. Acquiring Betts could easily put the Dodgers over the top as they try to win a World Series. Landing Price would also be a nice consolation prize after they lost both Hyun-Jin Ryu and Rich Hill in free agency.
