Jayson Tatum Returns With 20-Point Effort
5 years agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (groin) made his return from a three-game absence on Thursday, finishing a 119-104 win over the Warriors with 20 points on 7-for-14 shooting. He was on a minutes limit and logged 24 minutes, but it was enough for a solid outing that also included six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Tatum finished January strongly, scoring 20-plus points in four consecutive games. The start of February promises to be a lot tougher, with Boston starting the month by hosting the Sixers, who have limited Tatum to 32 percent shooting in three meetings this season.

With Tatum unavailable, Al Horford will likely receive an opportunity to start, while the rest of the first unit gets a boost in usage on the offensive end. Jayson Tatum Doubtful For Meeting With Suns
2 days agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (ankle) has been tagged as doubtful for Wednesday's matchup against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns. The Celtics star sprained his left ankle on Monday against the Sacramento Kings, exiting the action after logging only 25 minutes. It appears he will miss at least one contest due to the injury. The rest of Boston's big guns are completely healthy heading into Wednesday, so we can expect Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis to lead the offense. Al Horford is likely to step into the starting five if Tatum is ruled out.
