Reds Still In Play For Nicholas Castellanos
Nicholas Castellanos. The Rangers, among other teams, are also interested in Castellanos as the top available bat on the free-agent market after the Braves inked Marcell Ozuna on Tuesday. The 27-year-old (28 in March) hit a very nice .289/.337/.525 with 27 home runs, 100 runs scored and 73 RBI in 615 at-bats with the Tigers and Cubs during the 2019 season. He doesn't run at all, but he can provide fantasy owners with a nice slash line and modest power. Moving to hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark would be a nice location for his bat as well.

Nick Castellanos Hitting Cleanup On Thursday
Nick Castellanos is in right field and is batting cleanup for Thursday's divisional clash against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach at Truist Park. It's the first time that Castellanos has been in the cleanup spot this year, with the Phillies moving third baseman Alec Bohm moving down to the seven-hole after an 8-for-45 (.178) start to the year with no home runs. The 33-year-old Castellanos has been swinging a hot bat in the early going in 2025, hitting .308 (12-for-39) with two homers, three RBI and seven RBI. He's gone 7-for-18 in the last five games as well. The move up the lineup into the cleanup spot will make him a little more attractive for DFS lineups, albeit against a pitcher that has yet to give up a run this year. Castellanos has hit .222 with three RBI in nine career at-bats against Schwellenbach.

Nick Castellanos Returning On Saturday
Nick Castellanos (illness) is returning to the starting nine on Saturday afternoon. Castellanos is slated to cover right field and bat in the six-hole. Castellanos has been sidelined earlier in the week due to this illness. However, given that he is returning to the lineup, suggests he will not be in any danger of missing Opening Day. During the regular season, fantasy managers should expect the 33-year-old to be the everyday right fielder in the Philadelphia lineup. Last summer, Castellanos posted a .254/.311/.431 slash line with 30 doubles and 23 home runs. He swiped six bags and added 80 runs and 86 RBI. Under the hood, he generated a strong .271 xBA with a .333 xwOBA, which suggests that he should see some positive regression in 2025. Castellanos should be viewed as a high-floor No.3 outfielder in all formats.

Nick Castellanos Dealing With Illness
Nick Castellanos (illness) was unable to play on Wednesday due to an illness. The 33-year-old has not been in the lineup since Sunday. Fantasy managers should monitor his status as the Phillies may continue to keep him sidelined for the time being. When healthy, he is expected to be their everyday right fielder. Last season, the 33-year-old held a .254/.311/.431 slash line with 30 doubles and 23 home runs. He tallied 86 RBI with 80 runs. He generated an elite .271 xBA with a 39.0 percent launch angle sweet spot rate, which suggests he should see some positive regression during the 2025 campaign. During the 2023 campaign, he held a .272/.311/.476 line. Fantasy managers should view Castellanos as a reliable No.3/No.4 outfielder who should provide a high floor of counting stats batting in a potent Philadelphia lineup.

Nick Castellanos Walks Off Mets In Game 2
Nick Castellanos came up huge in Game 2 of the NLDS on Sunday, hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to send the Phillies to a 7-6 win. Castellanos also homered in the sixth to tie the game at three and ended the day finished the day 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. It was a fantastic performance for the 32-year-old, who is looking to turn around his postseason fortune after slashing .199/.252/.382 in 136 postseason at-bats before this game. It was certainly a terrific start, and Castellanos will look to keep his momentum in Game 3 on Tuesday.
