BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 17% of leagues
ANALYSIS: I don't even know what to make of these Pistons. I guess the best we can hope for is for them to move Andre Drummond as soon as possible, lock into the rebuilding mentality, trade any other still-valuable piece (Derrick Rose), and settle for a long walk through the desert with the likes of Bruce Brown Jr. getting ample playing time and a stable role. It's been un and down for him this season as he started 26 of his first 30 games but only three of his last eight.
Since he was left on the bench for the first time in ages back on Dec. 26 Brown has stepped up his game, though. He's scored 10-plus points in five of those eight last matches and he had a booming performance against Cleveland on Jan. 9 in which he finished with 17 points, four rebounds, eight dimes, four steals, and two blocks. Cherry-picking, I know, but only two other players have put up a 17-4-8-4-2 line in a single game this season: Karl Anthony-Towns and De'Aaron Fox (twice).
While you can't expect Brown to perform to those heights nightly, he's back in the starting lineup and playing north of 30 minutes with an average usage rate of 20 percent. He's shooting 45 percent from the floor since Christmas Day and has hit 94.5% of his last 20 free throws (last six games). Not a long-range threat, but a cheap all-across-the-board contributor nightly with an average line of 11-5-5-2 in the last month.
