Austin Ekeler Could Top 1,000 Receiving Yards
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is poised to accomplish quite a feat if he can continue his recent performances. Ekeler sits at 950 receiving yards this year, and he's averaged more than 50 receiving yards per game for five straight weeks. If he can get over the hump, he'll be just the third running back in the last 35 years to surpass that line. He'll also possibly be part of a trio of Chargers to haul in more than 1,000 yards since Keenan Allen has already surpassed the total and Mike Williams is also on the precipice. Lastly, Ekeler is still auditioning for the starting job next year since Melvin Gordon is an unrestricted free agent. It'll be a big game for Ekeler, and he ripped the Chiefs last time they played each other. Expect him to play a big role once again.
