BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 26% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: If anyone other than Allen Robinson (obviously) is excelling in this “new” Mitch Trubisky-led offense of the Bears that must be Anthony Miller. The numbers certainly don’t lie. Just take a look at what happened last Sunday against Green Bay: Miller finished with 118 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions, besting Robinson's performance. Although he’s still not reached Allen’s level (Miller is a little more volatile week-to-week), he’s getting closer and closer each weekend.
During the past four weeks, Robinson has scored 19-plus points in every game while catching 26 passes for 390 yards and four combined touchdowns. Miller has two 13-FP performances and a 23 and 26 ones in that span. He’s caught 27 passes for 377 yards and two combined scores. As you see, the numbers are very similar if not for the touchdowns, but Robinson is the clear go-to option when it comes to the passing game so he’s getting more chances. Had those touchdowns been the same or spread in other ways, Miller and Robinson’s last four weeks would look virtually the same.
Miller has caught at least six passes in three of his last four games and logged more than 77 yards in each of those. He’s currently on a two-game scoring streak, and he’s done so facing the eight- and 10th-best defenses against WRs.
Entering championship week, Miller is as good a play as any others you can think of. The Bears are a two-man team when it comes to the receiving corps and Miller will keep seeing targets and getting opportunities. While the Chiefs have the second-best defense against receivers, the role and situation Miller is in calls for a waiver-wire addition in practically every league to deploy him in the flex spot. No-brainer pickup in deeper leagues, for sure.
