Colorado Avalanche goaltender Pavel Francouz was very close to his first career shutout on Wednesday, giving up the only goal in a 3-1 win over Philadelphia with just 5:12 left in regulation. Claude Giroux was the bad man who ended his shutout bid. Francouz is enjoying a really nice season with eight wins in 11 starts. He boasts a 2.37 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Philipp Grubauer (lower body) has been on the shelf again, so Francouz has played a big part during the team's current 7-0-1 streak. He's in a great spot to grab another W on Friday against the Devils, who sit on a 5-9-0 road record.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
