Tuesday features a twelve-game evening slate with a spotlight on games like Florida and Tampa Bay, San Jose and Nashville, plus even Montreal and Pittsburgh.
Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/10/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @ChrisWasselDFS. DFS Forwards to Consider
Evgeni Malkin - C, PIT vs MTL (FD - $8,500, DK - $8,200)
Malkin draws a solid matchup against a Montreal team with a below-average penalty kill (75.6%) and allows 3.23 goals per game. Pittsburgh is one of the better home teams in the NHL and Malkin has 14 points in 11 home games along with six points on the man advantage. These are two of the highest-shooting teams in the league. Montreal ranks first at 35.2 shots per game and Pittsburgh is fourth at 34. Expect the top-line center to get his fair share of chances and shots. Bryan Rust becomes a good compliment to Malkin.
Andrei Svechnikov - W, CAR vs EDM (FD - $6,600, DK - $5,600)
The winger has hit or exceeded value in three of his previous four outings. Edmonton is a bit of a hit and miss team to play against but Svechnikov should get some opportunities. He is averaging 2.75 shots per game over the previous four contests. His speed and creativity could be useful tonight along with a reasonable price tag. The FanDuel price may seem high but Svechnikov can produce at enough of a rate to warrant being rostered on all platforms.
Also, Consider:
- Aleksander Barkov, Jack Eichel, and even Mika Zibanejad are excellent plays on Tuesday night.
- Artemi Panarin, Leon Draisitl, and Filip Forsberg are solid options on Tuesday from the wing position.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Kris Letang - D, PIT vs MTL (FD - $6,600, DK - $7,000)
We are feasting on Montreal a bit here as the Canadiens give up the most DFS points to defensemen in the NHL. Letang now has eight points in his last nine games after a two-assist effort over the weekend versus Detroit. It is hard to pass up playing against a team with a porous defense and the Canadiens do yield 3.23 goals per game on the road. The price may be high but could be worth it on Tuesday night.
Dougie Hamilton - D, CAR vs EDM (FD - $5,900, DK - $7,200)
Hamilton's floor is around six shots and blocked shots a game combined which helps as far as the value from peripherals, etc. The Carolina defenseman again should be one of the top DFS NHL producers of the night. The dropoff in price on FanDuel is enough to roster him on Tuesday night. Hamilton is more of a FanDuel play only but can be used on all platforms as Edmonton could be a better matchup than expected.
Also, Consider:
- Roman Josi and Ryan Ellias are up against San Jose on Tuesday. Also, Victor Hedman has a very good matchup against Florida as well.
- Tony DeAngelo or Adam Fox are reasonable choices against Los Angeles later tonight.
DFS Goalie to Consider
Sergei Bobrovsky - G, FLA vs CLB (FD - $7,800, DK - $7,700)
The idea was to take a shot with a goalie who is slightly lower-priced. Bobrovsky has been on a nice roll of late while facing more than 33 shots per 60 in the process. He has stopped 63 of 65 shots while defeating San Jose and Columbus. If one goes back a bit further, the Florida goalie now has five wins in his previous seven starts. This is by far his best stretch of the season and maybe a sign that he is finally past the early season slump that has plagued him in season's past. Tampa Bay will be a great litmus test tonight and the Lightning did play last night which should increase chances of a win.
Also, Consider:
- The other good GPP choices on Tuesday may include Tristan Jarry for Pittsburgh if he starts and Alex Stalock for Minnesota who is lower priced.
