Derek Carr A Risky QB2 Versus Chiefs
5 years agoOakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is coming off his worst game of the season where he was benched for the fourth quarter after passing for just 127 scoreless yards against the Jets. On paper, his Chiefs opponent in Week 13 measures up similarly and held Carr to his second-worst performance of the season back in Week 2. However, this contest currently owns the highest over/under total of the week (51.0), and the stakes will be high with the divisional crown up for grabs for both teams. The Raiders are at their best when Josh Jacobs is moving the chains and not when Carr is trying to play from behind, so expect the offense to try and manage the clock and keep the ball out of Patrick Mahomes' hands. If this game plays out the way Jon Gruden wants it to, Carr won't be lighting the fantasy scoreboard up and is only worth starting in two-QB formats.
