Chris Carson Shown Up Against Eagles
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has been a workhorse for Seattle this year, and discussions about his workload abounded this week. Sunday took care of managing that. Rashaad Penny absolutely exploded in some of his first carries while Carson struggled, so head coach Pete Carroll switched it up and leaned heavily on the younger backup for the day. Penny amassed 129 yards on 14 carries while Carson only hauled the ball eight times on the ground for just 26 yards. Carson still caught four passes for 31 yards, and there's no reason to think this is a changing of the guard or anything. Carroll mixed up a bunch of the offense on Sunday, giving bigger pieces of the pie to a lot of backups. Hopefully, Carson will be back to his normal carries next Monday against the Vikings.
