BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: After dropping an egg against Atlanta in Week 10, the Saints and Drew Brees came back to their own selves and smashed Tampa Bay for a 34-17 victory last Sunday. As is the norm, Michael Thomas (114 yards on 8 receptions) and Alvin Kamara (75 yards on 13 carries) were the best performers of the team, though Ted Ginn made the most of his chances. Targeted just four times, he hauled in two receptions for 14 yards and was able to enter the paint for a touchdown, finishing the day with 9.4 fantasy points.
Ginn has been a low-scoring option all season long, but he has mostly sustained an average of around 6-to-9 points lately. He’s not a league winner, but if you’re completely out of options for the flex spot you should add him on the hope that he pairs with Brees here and there for a touchdown or a long gain that at least give you some points.
During the year, Ginn is averaging four targets and catching two passes per game for around 30 yards. He has two touchdowns to his name, and of course is a secondary option on an offense that features Thomas, Kamara, Jared Cook, and Latavius Murray. Even with that, Brees doesn’t have a problem finding whoever he needs to get the score, so Ginn will keep having chances of scoring going forward.
New Orleans has two cupcakes on the schedule next, with Carolina ranked 28th and Atlanta 27th at defending opposing WRs. That should only boost Ginn’s upside and help him in getting more fantasy points than he does on average. Consider Ginn a good addition and a streaming option at the flex or second-flex spots if you play on any deep league if only because of the soft strength of his schedule.
