Golden State Warriors point/shooting guard Alec Burks entered the starting five for Saturday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder due to Eric Paschall’s absence. Burks parlayed that opportunity into a 23-point effort across 37 minutes that also included five rebounds and four assists with just one turnover. With injuries decimating Golden State, Burks appears primed to take a significant step forward in the short-term, making him a legitimate fantasy commodity in any sized league. He faces his former club, Utah, on Monday, although he may return to leading the second unit should Paschall be able to suit up.--Jesse Borek

Miami Heat guard Alec Burks (back) has been upgraded from questionable to available ahead of Monday's tip-off against the Philadelphia 76ers. The veteran has been dealing with a back issue but is ready to make his 11th consecutive appearance. Burks was outstanding on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks, scoring 24 points. However, his offensive role will be much smaller on Monday night as Tyler Herro (thigh) will return to the lineup. For the month, Burks has averaged 12.0 points in 23.3 minutes per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Miami Heat guard/forward, Alec Burks (back), is available to suit up against the Washington Wizards on Monday. Burks will play despite dealing with a lingering back issue. The 33-year-old guard has been averaging 20.0 minutes, 16 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists per contest in the last three games. This evening, he could see extra scoring opportunities with Davion Mitchell (illness) potentially sidelined with a stomach ailment.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Miami Heat guard/forward Alec Burks (back) is available to suit up against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday. Burks had been labeled as questionable earlier due to a back injury. However, he will be good to go for the sixth straight game after missing seven in a row. Burks turned in a 17-point effort in 24 minutes on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, and he will likely see plenty of extra scoring opportunities with Duncan Robinson (back) still sidelined for this evening's matchup.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

Miami Heat guard/forward Alec Burks (back) has been labeled questionable for Thursday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks. Filling in for Duncan Robinson (back) in the starting unit on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors, Burks turned some heads with a 17-point effort in 24 minutes. But he may now join Robinson on the sidelines Thursday night due to a back issue. Jaime Jaquez Jr. had just a few minutes on the court against the Warriors, but if both Robinson and Burks can't play on Thursday, he could step up and take on a much more significant role.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
