Sterling Shepard's Situation Is Serious
5 years agoNew York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur called wide receiver Sterling Shepard's (concussion) head injury and lingering symptoms "a serious injury." Shurmur wouldn't say if the team is considering shutting Shepard down for the rest of the season, but it sounds like it's a possibility. Shepard already has two concussions this year and was cleared from the protocol late last week before suffering a setback on Saturday. He's a long shot to play in Week 10 against the Jets, and it's unknown if he'll be able to play again this year. His absence is continued good news for both Golden Tate and Darius Slayton, although Tate is the only consistent wide receiver in New York for fantasy purposes. You can consider dropping Shepard in shallow leagues if you have more pressing needs.
