Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington had just one catch for 21 yards in Monday’s win over the Dolphins. The second-year receiver didn’t get much help from quarterback Mason Rudolph who had trouble throwing a catchable pass to his former college teammate. In just his first action since missing the Week 6 game against the Chargers with a shoulder injury, it’s encouraging to see him receive six targets, but it’s equally as difficult to trust Washington for fantasy purposes. He can safely remain on waiver wires until he earns more work.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller

The Falcons signed former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver James Washington on Monday. After spending his first four seasons in Pittsburgh and one year with the Cowboys, Washington was out of the league in 2023. In 2022, Washington only played in two games and did not record a statistic. His best season came in 2019 when he caught 44 passes for 735 yards and three touchdowns. Washington was an important depth piece for the Steelers during his tenure. The Falcons have a crowded wide receiver room with Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud III, and Rondale Moore, who are all currently ahead of Washington on the depth chart. This signing is of little consequence to fantasy. Hopefully, Washington will have a chance to make the team, but it is not on the fantasy radar in 2024.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBaller

Veteran wide receiver James Washington, who is currently a free agent, will attempt to make a comeback, according to a post on his personal Instagram account. Washington is best known for his time in Pittsburgh, but he also worked around injuries to play in two games with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022. The former second-round pick's list of injuries included a Jones fracture, which required surgery. Washington looked to play in the NFL in 2023 but was cut by both the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts last August. Ultimately, while Washington has received steady NFL interest, his last meaningful contributions at the pro level came in 2021 when he caught 24 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns. Fast forward three years and Washington is looking to rejuvenate his career. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler notes that multiple teams have inquired about Washington. However, he remains off the fantasy radar for the time being.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

The Indianapolis Colts released wide receiver James Washington on Monday, according to a league source. Washington signed with the Colts during training camp but obviously didn't do enough in the short time he was with the team to earn a roster spot heading into the 2023 regular season. The former second-round selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2018 out of Oklahoma State was unable to secure his only target in two games played with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 after four seasons in Pittsburgh to begin his career. Washington's best season came in 2019, when he had 44 receptions for 735 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games (10 starts). He will now look to join another team as receiver depth for the 2023 campaign.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Indianapolis Colts have reached an agreement with wide receiver James Washington on a one-year deal. The 27-year-old signed with the Dallas Cowboys last season, but barely saw any playing time while battling a foot injury. Washington joined the New Orleans Saints this offseason, but was cut a few weeks into training camp. It appears he has found a new home with the Colts. It looks like he has an uphill battle to make the Colts 53-man roster. At best, Washington will be a depth option, so he can be ignored in most fantasy formats going forward.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
