Preston Williams Remains Top Option on Winless Dolphins
5 years agoHis offense may be a sputtering bucket of rust, but Miami Dolphins wide receiver Preston Williams has been a somewhat consistent source of yards in 2019, even though touchdowns have been hard to come by. Williams put up a season-high in yardage in last week’s 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills, catching 6-of-8 targets for 88 yards. While he leads the team in targets, receptions, and yards, Williams hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1 and has been outscored in standard leagues by teammate Devante Parker, who now has a touchdown in Miami’s last three games. Given the volume of targets Williams continues to see and the amount of times Miami seems to be willing to throw with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick under center, Williams is a WR4 heading into Miami’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. If he is to become anything more than that, he will not only have to start finding his way into the end zone, but he'll also need to be more efficient with all the targets he’s receiving, as Williams has only caught 23 of the 44 balls thrown his way in 2019.
