Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford finished with 265 yards on 18-for-32 passing in the loss to the Packers on Monday. The veteran still played relatively well despite failing to throw a touchdown and had it not been for rookie mistakes from tight end T.J. Hockenson, the story would have been different. With Week 6 in the books, things will get tougher for Stafford against a tough Vikings Defense on Sunday.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

By agreeing to a contract restructure last Friday with quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Los Angeles Rams were able to stay on year-to-year terms with the veteran signal-caller. The adjusted contract will be structured under his existing framework that runs through 2026, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodriguez. No new years were added, so both sides expect to revisit the matter again next offseason. The specific dollar amount of the adjusted contract are unknown, but Stafford surely receives a double-digit raise from the existing $27 million he was scheduled to be paid in 2025. "We're taking it a year at a time," head coach Sean McVay said. Rodrigue also adds that despite keeping Stafford for this year, the Rams will look to the future at the position. For fantasy purposes, although Stafford almost led L.A. to the NFC Championship, he should be considered a midrange QB2.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford reached an agreement on Friday on a restructured deal that will keep him in L.A., sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Financial terms of the restructure weren't immediately available, but this now squashes all trade rumors this offseason after the Rams gave permission to Stafford to talk with other teams about a new contract. Both the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants reportedly discussed two-year deals with the veteran signal-caller that included between $90-100 million guaranteed, but after meeting with the Rams on Friday, Stafford has decided to stay in Los Angeles. The 37-year-old was the QB19 in fantasy in 2024, throwing for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 regular-season games. Although he won't be a QB1 in fantasy in 2025, he was playing his best ball late last season and nearly led the Rams to the NFC Championship.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is scheduled to meet with the Rams on Friday, feels more likely to return to L.A., according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Nothing is final, but it's looking like a reunion between Stafford and the Rams is more likely than a few days ago when it looked like he would leave. Both the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants have discussed a two-year deal for Stafford that includes $90-100 million guaranteed, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini. A resolution is expected by the end of the NFL Combine this weekend. The Rams' preference is to stay year-to-year on a potential deal with Stafford -- they've typically averaged an annual salary of $40-45 million for him. It's a figure that ranks around the middle of the NFL this year, while Stafford has mostly produced like a top-10 QB in his time in L.A., including a Super Bowl victory.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said that all sides expect a resolution to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's saga by the end of this week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Stafford is looking to be compensated as a top-10 QB in the league, which would mean at least $40 million over the next couple of seasons, but the Rams are playing hardball, which is why they've allowed him to reach out to other teams to gauge his value this offseason. The New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders appear interested in trading for the 37-year-old veteran signal-caller and signing him to a new deal that will pay him more, but Rapoport says not to rule out a return to the Rams. Although he might have to take a bit less money to stay in L.A., the Rams likely give Stafford the best shot at winning another Super Bowl ring at the tail end of his career. Stay tuned for more developments by the end of this weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
