Ted Ginn (WR, NO) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn scored his first touchdown of the year in Week 5 and could be more involved going forward.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 7% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn caught his first touchdown of the year in Week 5, a 33-yard score that provided the bulk of his statline for the game, which was two catches for 35 yards and a touchdown. Ginn was the only Saints wide receiver in the game not named Michael Thomas to record a target or catch.

This year, the Saints' offense has heavily featured Thomas and Alvin Kamara, who have combined for over 30 touches per game. However, Ginn could stand to benefit if the Saints start spreading the wealth more, something you typically see more of in a Sean Payton offense.

Ginn has 14 catches for 170 yards on the season. He's the clear deep threat for the Saints as he has gains of 33 yards and 41 yards already this year. The team has primarily been without Tre'Quan Smith (ankle) since Week 3. He missed Weeks 3 and 4 and only played a portion of Week 5's game. He's certainly a threat for Ginn's target share but he also most definitely plays a different role in the offense as more of a medium-depth target.

Ginn is a solid add in leagues of 14 teams or more for anyone in need of wide receiver help in both the short-term or long-term. Ginn could be a sneaky WR3 or flex start in a favorable Week 6 matchup against the Jaguars and his value will only increase when Drew Brees (hand) returns.
