Mitch Garver Hitting .412 Against Yankees This Season
5 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver will try and keep his fantastic offensive season going into the postseason when the ALDS begins against the Yankees on Friday. Garver has emerged as a force in the second half of the season, posting an OPS of 1.007 over his last 49 games of the regular season. He will have a favorable matchup against the Yankees Game 1 starter, left-hander James Paxton. Garver absolutely torched left-handed pitching this season, slugging .736 with a 1.170 OPS through 106 at-bats. Garver will be a solid play against a Yankees pitching staff that the catcher hit .412 against through 17 at-bats this season.
