Manny Machado Disappoints In Inaugural Padres Campaign
5 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 2-for-4 to finish his 2019 campaign on Sunday. The 27-year-old former All-Star finishes his first year in San Diego with a .256/.334/.462 slash, 32 homers, 166 runs-plus-RBI and five steals. While Machado acknowledged his poor performance, he appeared in 156 games and was a symbol of durability for an oft-tinkered Friars lineup. As expected, Machado struggled at Petco Park this season, posting just a .703 OPS at home but should continue leading a young upcoming squad next year. While he was a fantasy disappointment, Machado will likely still garner third-round interest with an ADP within the top-40 ADP heading into the 2020 fantasy season.
