Charlie Morton Strikes Out Nine Over Six Scoreless Innings
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Charlie Morton shut down the Yankees on Wednesday, pitching six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out nine. This was Morton's last start of the regular season and he'll finish the year with a 16-6 record, 3.05 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 240 strikeouts over 194.2 innings. The 35-year-old was as good as you could have hoped this season, a borderline top-10 pitcher in fantasy. He should be one of the first 20 pitchers off the board come 2020 draft season.
