Anthony Santander Goes Deep in Orioles Win
Anthony Santander quickly erased the deficit with a three-run home run off of Seattle Mariners starter Felix Hernandez. Santander has now hit two home runs in three games after failing to leave the yard in his previous eight games. The 24-year-old has had a solid rookie campaign, now with 20 home runs and 59 RBI in 392 plate-appearances.

Anthony Santander Hitting Sixth on Tuesday Against Padres
Anthony Santander is serving as the DH for the Jays on Tuesday and will hit sixth in the batting order versus the visiting San Diego Padres and right-hander Dylan Cease in the series opener. Santander is slowly moving his way down Toronto's batting order after originally starting as their three-hole hitter for the first 39 games of the 2025 campaign. The 30-year-old slugger had a career year as a first-time All-Star in 2024 with Baltimore, clubbing 44 homers and driving in 102 runs, but he's currently slashing just .182/.264/.308 with five homers, 16 RBI and a 44:18 K:BB in his first 41 games with the Blue Jays. Tuesday's matchup isn't the best one for him to turn things around against Cease, although Santander has hit .313 with a .916 OPS, a homer and three RBI against Cease in 16 career at-bats against him.

Anthony Santander Remains Sidelined on Saturday
Anthony Santander (hip) remains out of the starting nine on Saturday when the Blue Jays continue a series against the Detroit Tigers. Arden Zwelling noted that the slugger is dealing with a sore left hip. On Friday, Santander was dealing with a sore left shoulder. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Sunday's contest. As a result, this will open the DH spot for first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., which opens first base for Ernie Clement. Through his first 39 games of the campaign, Santander has held a modest .187/.266/.316 slash line with just five doubles and five home runs. Under the hood, he has generated a low .283 xwOBA. The Blue Jays are worth considering in DFS facing Reese Olson, who enters this game with a 3.38 ERA.

Anthony Santander Out on Friday
Anthony Santander will retreat to the bench for Friday's series opener versus the visiting Detroit Tigers at Rogers Centre. George Springer will serve as the DH and will hit cleanup, while Jonatan Clase will start in left field and bat ninth against Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty. It's been a rough start to Santander's time with Toronto in 2025. The 30-year-old Venezuelan switch-hitter has hit .187 (29-for-155) with five home runs, 16 RBI, 12 runs scored, 17 walks and 41 strikeouts in 173 plate appearances after clubbing a career-high 44 homers and driving in 102 in 2024 with the Orioles. He went 1-for-12 with five strikeouts in his last three games and missed some time with a sore shoulder. Springer has swung the bat well this year but is hitless in 14 career at-bats against Flaherty. Clase has never faced Flaherty.

Anthony Santander Returns Against Rays
Anthony Santander (shoulder) is serving as the DH and is hitting third for Toronto on Tuesday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Shane Baz at Rogers Centre. Santander miss the three-game sweep over the Seattle Mariners over the weekend with a shoulder injury that he suffered last Thursday. The 30-year-old veteran switch-hitter is back in action on Tuesday, though, and will be looking to get his season average up over .200. Fantasy managers probably aren't in a rush to get him back into their starting lineups, although he does bring a modest three-game hitting streak into Tuesday's action after going 5-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and a run scored in last week's series against the Los Angeles Angels. Santander is hitless in his six career at-bats against Baz.
