Brandon Carlo Signs Two-Year Contract
5 years agoBoston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo inked a two-year, $5.7 million ($2.85 million average annual value) contract to remain with the Bruins on Tuesday. The 22-year-old blueliner, formerly a restricted free agent, ends his contract holdout after missing just four days of training camp. Carlo has progressed into becoming a staple on the Bruins' second defensive pair and is coming off a season in which he posted a career-best 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) to go along with a plus-nine rating, 88 shots, 85 hits and 112 blocks in 81 regular-season games. Given his low offensive ceiling, Carlo doesn't figure to be a high-end fantasy blueliner any time soon but still adds considerable value given his modest production in peripheral categories.
