Let the games begin! How high is too high to draft New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson, the 2019 first overall pick and one of the top prospects to enter the league in the past decade? Williamson should be a defensive force right upon entry into the league. He averaged 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in his lone season at Duke last year. Don’t expect his numbers to be quite as gaudy as an NBA rookie, but he should still end up between one and 1.5 per game in both stats, which is stellar. Rebounds and field goal percentage are the next two stats where he should contribute instantly. Assuming he plays around 30 minutes per game and does most of his work on the inside, rather than as a wing, he should end up averaging around eight rebounds per game, maybe slightly more, and shooting over 50% from the field. Scoring-wise, expect him to be around 15 points per game, which is a great clip for a rookie, especially one that has so much more to offer. The place where you want to be targeting Williamson is somewhere in the late fourth/early fifth round. Taking him in the early/mid fourth is viable if you aren’t crazy about what else is on the board, but don’t reach for him in the third round, especially in a ten-team league.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (back) won't play on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers. Williamson will be out of action for the third consecutive contest due to a back contusion. The 24-year-old is one of seven Pelicans listed as unavailable for tonight's contest. Yves Missi (hip) could also be sidelined, as he is listed as questionable due to right hip soreness. The Pelicans won't be making the postseason, so how much Williamson will play during the final 10 regular season games is unclear. Kelly Olynyk, Jose AlvaradoJordan Hawkins and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl will likely have heavy workloads this evening with so many Pelicans on the shelf.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (back) won't play on Sunday against Detroit. After appearing in a career-high 70 games last season, the former Duke Blue Devil has been on the floor only 30 times throughout the 2024-25 campaign. He's battled various ailments during the year. Yet, a back injury will keep him off the floor for a second-straight contest. The Pelicans aren't going to the postseason, so it's unknown how much work Williamson will see moving ahead. But it's not an ideal scenario for those hunting for a fantasy basketball title. With Yves Missi (hip) also sidelined for Sunday's contest, Bruce Brown, amassing 14 points in Friday's blowout loss to the Timberwolves, will probably remain in the starting lineup. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl should also stay in the rotation.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Zion Williamson (back) won't play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Williamson was previously left off the injury but will now be sidelined due to a lower back contusion. The Pelicans superstar had played in two straight games, and on Wednesday, he finished with 29 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and three steals across 30 minutes against the Timberwolves. Bruce Brown will have an increased role with Williamson on the shelf this evening.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Zion Williamson (personal) will return to the lineup for Monday's action against the Detroit Pistons. He sat out Saturday's contest versus the San Antonio Spurs for personal reasons. Initially, Williamson's status was also uncertain for Monday night when the team listed him as questionable for the game. However, he has been upgraded to available. The Pelicans superstar recently posted his second career triple-double and has been crushing it. Over six March appearances, Williamson has averaged 23.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 29.3 minutes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
