Mason Rudolph Set To Be Full-Time Starter
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph just made his NFL debut in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but now he is slated to become the team's full-time starter with the news that Ben Roethlisberger's (elbow) season is over. Rudolph went 12-for-19 for 112 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 28-26 loss. JuJu Smith-Schuster's value takes a hit with Rudolph taking over, while his former Oklahoma State teammate James Washington gets a nice bump due to expected workload increase. Tight end Vance McDonald caught two touchdowns from Rudolph on Sunday, so he should continue to be a safety net for the second-year signal caller. Look at Rudolph as a mid-to-low-end QB2 until he proves he can handle an NFL offense.
