Matthew Stafford Delivers Middling Effort In Lions Win
5 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford proved efficient in the Lions 13-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, completing 22 of his 30 pass attempts, but he was otherwise unspectacular on the day. Stafford threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns while being picked off twice in what was a somewhat sloppy affair for both teams. Stafford's day was saved with a late 31-yard touchdown pass to second-year wideout Kenny Golladay, who redeemed himself after at least partially causing one of Stafford's passes to be intercepted earlier in the game. Overall, it was a decent but unspectacular outing from Stafford, who will look to replicate his Week 1 performance in Week 3 with a leaky Eagles secondary on deck. Stafford remains a QB2 going forward.
