DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/13/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 13th, 2019. Austyn Varney's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome to Friday baseball! I hope all of you are having a wonderful week and let's hope it gets even better entering the weekend. I may be able to help with a few plays to boost your bankroll. This slate is an interesting one, and it's worth multi-entering a few tournaments.

We have quite a few pitchers worth considering, but I would say a couple stand out above the rest. As for hitting, there aren't too many gas cans to pick on. There are a few, and we'll make sure we target them. Let's dive in and find a top play at each position!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/13/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. .

Things change quickly as lineups come out. If you have any questions, hit me up on Twitter @VarneyDFS and I'd be more than happy to help.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Gerrit Cole - HOU @ KC - $12,200

I actually live next to the Houston Astros spring training facility and loved driving up there to watch this pitching staff throw bullpens. Cole stood out like no other. His basic bullpens grew crowds from the team and staff daily. If you want a few cool videos of him throwing bullpens, find me on Twitter. As for tonight, it doesn’t get much better than Cole here. He’s struck out a whopping 43 batters over the last three games and now sees a match-up with the lowly KC Royals. They rank 18th in baseball against righties, but drop to 26th in power and strikeout 24% of the time. Cole is in a tier of his own on this slate.

Andrew Heaney - LAA vs. TB - $9,900

Andrew Heaney is quite an interesting pitcher. He seems to be all over the place production-wise, but is getting through five innings no matter what and has been solid. He now gets to match-up wit the Tampa Bay Rays, who’s best bats are all left-handed. They rank 23rd against lefties in baseball with a .299 wOBA and 24.7% strikeout rate. Heaney strikes out 10 batters per nine innings and has shown us crazy upside very recently. The ballpark helps and certainly hurts the Rays. Heaney is solid at his price as an SP1 or 2.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Luke Voit - NYY @ KC (Kay) - $4,000

The Yankees are expected to put up six-plus runs tonight and Luke Voit will sit in the middle of the order. He’s too cheap on DraftKings at $4,000, facing off Anthony Kay and the Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre. He’s been up and down through the minors, but is a lefty that gives up a lot of flyballs. I expect the Ya need to hit a few home runs tonight and Voit is my favorite. He’s held a .386 wOBA against lefties since last season and has as much power as anyone. The Ya need are a great stack in both cash and tournaments.

Gleyber Torres - NYY @ TOR (Kay) - $4,600

D.J. LeMahieu and Jose Altuve are great plays as well here, but we’ll stay with the Yankees and look at Gleyber Torres. Much better against southpaws, Torres has posted a .436 wOBA and will look to build on that tonight. I just touched on Anthony Kay, who strikes out a lot of guys and gives up home runs. Vegas has the Yankees implied to score well over six runs, and Gleyber Torres has more upside than anyone else at the position.

Matt Chapman - OAK @ TEX (Burke) - $4,600

Brock Burke has actually been good against righties in his short sample size, but you can simply blame a .173 BABIP for that. His xFIP is well over five against righties and Brock Burke is nobody to be afraid of. Matt Chapman is a guy I rarely get wrong, and this seems like a perfect spot. He loves the fastball and has been a lot better against lefties on the season. The A’s are also moving from the Coliseum to Arlington, where the ball flies. I love this stack in tournaments and love Chapman and Semien on their own.

Alex Bregman - HOU @ KC (Duffy) - $5,500

Bregman is expensive, but this Astros team is worth getting exposure to. Danny Duffy has allowed a .355 wOBA to righties and over 1.5 HR/9. This Astros team can do damage like no other and a lot of it stems from the bat of Alex Bregman. He’s stroked a .417 wOBA against lefties on the season and is truly one of the best pure hitters we’ve seen in some time. The price is definitely tough here, but the upside is limitless and I doubt his ownership exceeds 15% anywhere. Let’s move on to the outfield, where another Astro may be calling my name.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

George Springer - HOU @ KC (Duffy) - $5,700

Where Alex Bregman slides in as a pure hitter, George Springer is asserting himself as one of the more electric power bats we’ve seen in quite some time. He has to be one of the more entertaining hitters to watch and he’s great in the field as well. As for tonight, he matches up with Danny Duffy and his huge HR rate. Springer has held a .400 wOBA against lefties since the start of last season and has hit 15 home runs against them. Springer may be expensive, but he has huge upside and won’t be highly owned.

Eloy Jimenez - CWS @ SEA (Kikuchi) - $4,200

We haven’t touched on the White Sox yet, but they are firmly in play against Yusei Kikuchi. The Sox do get a ballpark downgrade but are still expected to put up five runs and they have plenty of weapons. Eloy Jimenez has the power to hit the ball out anywhere and his wOBA has gotten over .370 against southpaws. He has two home run upside in every game and especially against Kikuchi, who will be lucky to last five innings. The White Sox are an underrated stack in all formats.

Things change quickly as lineups come out. If you have any questions, hit me up on Twitter @VarneyDFS and I'd be more than happy to help.
