5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez is eager to get back to game action after hitting the Injured List on August 22 with right arm inflammation, but manager Bud Black threw some cold water on that idea by telling reporters that the likelihood of Marquez returning is just an "outside chance." Marquez has still been one of Colorado's better pitchers this season, but that isn't saying much as he's been saddled with a 4.76 ERA. He's particularly struggled at home, and Colorado's entire staff has seemed to be snakebit this year. For now, it looks like Marquez is simply of interest in keeper leagues, where owners will have to hope that an early start to the offseason will do the pitcher good.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
