Adrian Peterson Ready To Roll In Week 1
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson is in line to continue his role as a key piece of the offense in 2019. The difference in this year compared to last, however, is that the Redskins have Derrius Guice back. It stands to reason that the Redskins will want to ease Guice into action, so Peterson probably takes enough of the volume early on to provide fantasy value as a fringe flex option. Washington's first opponent is an Eagles team that gave up 4.7 yards per rushing attempt in 2018, which was tied for the fifth-highest such number in the league. Peterson could be reasonably expected to share a relatively even split with Guice in Week 1, but his ceiling is capped in the presence of the second-year rusher. Peterson received at least 15 touches in nine games last year. Those numbers figure to dwindle with Guice in the picture.
