Sony Michel Much Improved In The Passing Game
5 years agoNew England Patriots running back Sony Michel has become much more effective in the passing game, per the team's running backs coach Ivan Fears. Fears noted that "[the] whole key [is] to make it so we’re interchangeable... [other teams] got to worry about Sony catching the ball as well as running the ball." Last season as a rookie, Michel ran for over 900 yards but only caught seven passes. Most of the work in the latter area was done by his teammate James White. If Michel is able to carve out a larger role in the receiving game, his overall fantasy ceiling would increase, especially in PPR leagues. This would mean his fifth-round ADP would be a steal, considering Michel could turn in high-end RB2 numbers by the end of the year.
