D.K. Metcalf Expected To Be Ready For Week 1
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf (knee) is expected to be active for the team's Week 1 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, per head coach Pete Carroll. While Carroll notoriously underrates the severity of his players' injuries, if Metcalf is healthy for Week 1, the odds are that he would start. Fantasy-wise, rookie wide receivers have a tough time adjusting to the NFL due to an increase in defensive quality and playbook complexity, however, Metcalf's athleticism makes him a clear deep-threat target for quarterback Russell Wilson straight out of the gate. Draft Metcalf as a late-round sleeper candidate who could return WR2 value over the course of the season.
