Tyrell Williams To Get More 50-50 Balls This Season
5 years agoOakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden stated he wants Derek Carr to throw more 50-50 balls this year with a more talented group of receivers. This mentality boosts Tyrell Williams’ value the most as he’ll likely find himself in more single coverage with Antonio Brown being the primary focus of the defense. Carr thinks Williams can “easily take the featured role and be a 100-catch, 1,000-yard guy.” The 28-year-old has one 1,000-yard season under his belt, and now back as a WR2 with the Raiders, there’s an outside chance he’ll do it again. Williams is currently getting drafted as a WR4/5 but could emerge as an every-week starter in 2019, making him a player to target in the double-digit rounds.
