Peter Alonso Puts Cleveland Away At Citi Field
5 years agoAfter the New York Mets took the lead and added a couple of runs Tuesday night at Citi Field against the Cleveland Indians, their offensive star put the game away. Rookie Peter Alonso, fresh off breaking the NL single-season home run record by a rookie, smacked a two-RBI double to cap off a four-run inning for the Mets. While it wasn't a home run, the 24-year-old picked up his 96th and 97th RBI as his historic debut season moves along. The Mets remain right in the hunt for a Wild Card spot with the division-leading Atlanta Braves coming to town at the end of the week.
