Steven Matz Strikes Out Seven In Victory
5 years agoThe New York Mets returned to Citi Field Tuesday night with a victory over the Cleveland Indians in an interleague matchup. New York native Steven Matz went 6 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs on five hits. Just one of the runs was earned, as he walked two and struck out seven. The 28-year-old tossed 98 pitches in the performance, his eighth victory of the season. This is the first of two scheduled starts this week for Matz, with his second scheduled for Sunday afternoon in a divisional showdown with the Atlanta Braves, once again at Citi Field.
