Josh VanMeter Stays Hot In Win Saturday
Josh VanMeter stayed hot in a 6-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. VanMeter went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run in the win. The rookie has been a pleasant surprise for the Reds, hitting .293 with an .855 OPS, four homers, 18 runs, 13 RBI, and four steals in 123 at-bats. VanMeter has been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .333 over his past seven games. He is worth a look in deeper, National League-only formats going forward.

Josh VanMeter Scratched With Leg Tendinitis
Josh VanMeter (leg) was scratched from the Cactus League lineup on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants due to lower left leg tendinitis. In his place, Andruw Monasterio will start at the keystone and hit eighth against Giants right-hander Sean Hjelle. The 27-year-old VanMeter is in spring training with the Brew Crew this year as a non-roster invitee. His injury doesn't sound very serious, so there's a chance he won't be forced to miss much Cactus League action at all. In four major-league seasons, VanMeter has a .206/.293/.347 slash line with a .640 OPS, 19 home runs, 79 RBI, 83 runs scored and 17 stolen bases in 300 games. He's off the fantasy radar, even if he wins an Opening Day roster spot with Milwaukee.

Brewers Sign Josh VanMeter
Josh VanMeter to a minor-league deal with an invitation to major-league spring training on Monday. VanMeter will join the Brew Crew after hitting just .187/.266/.292 with a .558 OPS, three home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases in 192 plate appearances and 67 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter will compete for a roster spot in spring training as bench depth. In his four major-league seasons, VanMeter has hit .206/.293/.347 with 19 home runs, 79 RBI, 83 runs scored and 17 stolen bases in 300 games, so there isn't much offensive upside to speak of.
