Welcome to the Friday, August 16th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on August 16th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Don't be a hypocrite, boasting Mallex Smith's SB(34) w/one cheek & complaining about drafting his .238AVG w/the other. You take the good & bad.
- Corey Seager loves MIA pitching w/HR(12) in every game of series.
- Cody Bellinger, it is my honor to award you w/your very first 40/10-Club card. It is a one of a kind. You are truly special. You stand on a pedestal for all to admire. Also, ladies & gentleman, I have the honor of presenting another award. This goes to the best player in baseball, a one-of-a-kind, truly special player, Mike Trout gets the highly coveted 40/10-Club card. Trout, you have no equal. **"Uh, what?" ~ Bellinger** (What?! You gonna argue w/186wRC+?)
- Sometimes Fire & Forget doesn't work. Walker Buehler was launched against the Marlins...Dud!
- *Bottom of the ninth, one out, bases loaded* That is likely how every toss into the air started for young Bryce Harper. Whoa! I see what you're doing. Trying to touch my childhood heartstrings w/stories & a Combo-Meal Grand Slam. It is a powerful combination to win back our hearts.
- Yu Darvish was masterful. Welcome back. We missed Yu.
- Anthony Rizzo, you are the impetus for a future story w/your minuscule 22HR. I'm thankful. It's enlightening though.
- Jose Ramirez, I strongly urge you to cease & desist. You're ruining your 2020 value. If you end w/nearly 30/30, I might not be able to get you in the second round. The non-believers will return.
- Much respect to Greg Allen 4-for-5 w/8R+RBI. Need more consistent playing time.
- Gary Sanchez & Gleyber Torres, stick together. If one hits a tater, the other does too(27).
- Eddie Rosario, keep an eye on Sanchez and Torres. Do what they do. (27HR).
- Anyone else surprised that Marcell Ozuna wants to run his butt off? 12SB. Previous best was five. All about that contract.
- I tip my cap to you, Sonny Gray. Very impressive.
- For nostalgia's sake, Miguel Cabrera (nine HR) gets a mention.
- If Ronald Acuna had started his sprint earlier, maybe he would be near 50HR already. 40/30-club bouncer, you get backup yet?
- Peter Alonso, you have to make it difficult for any future Mets rookie to achieve. Is 39HR enough?
- Luis Arraez only 8% owned?! Get outta here. Disrespect for a solid guy in a good lineup.
- Can the lineup be too good that affects SB & value? Alex Bregman only has four SB, but 154 wRC+(fourth).
- Andrew Heaney gets a W. In TEX next. Hmm.
- How many people need to hit two HR in a game before it's trendy?
- Have a great Friday. Finish strong so the weekend is a vacation and not a continuation of the week.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
