Domingo Santana Sitting Thursday
5 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Domingo Santana is not in the starting lineup Thursday against the Detroit Tigers. This looks like a routine day of rest for Santana, who has struggled mightily since straining his right elbow on July 23. Santana has managed a measly .133 batting average since then, and one has to wonder if the injury is affecting his swing. Daniel Vogelbach will man the designated hitter spot and bat sixth while Austin Nola mans first and bats fifth against right-hander Spencer Turnbull. Vogelbach could make for a very good DFS play, as he has hit 22 of his 27 home runs against right-handed pitching this season and Turnbull generally struggles away from home.
