Samaje Perine Ineffective In Preseason Opener
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Samaje Perine received six carries in Thursday's preseason opener, turning his half dozen opportunities into an unimpressive 13 yards. The top of Washington's running back depth chart is all but spoken for, with Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson figuring to share the ground game early on while Chris Thompson maintains the pass-catching responsibilities. Perine's inability to put forth any eye-catching numbers in his first preseason action won't help his cause as he tries to break camp in a reserve role. Even Guice and Peterson could wind up frustrating fantasy owners if the Redskins do indeed employ a timeshare, so Perine is nowhere near the fantasy radar.
