Toronto Blue Jays star rookies Cavan Biggio and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are both out of the lineup on Wednesday afternoon. Freddy Galvis will get the start at second, while Brandon Drury will man third base for Toronto. While their potential is not to the levels of Biggio or Guerrero Jr, Galvis and Drury should both be serviceable fill-ins today against Tampa Bay.--Michael

According to the team, the Kansas City Royals have signed infielder Cavan Biggio to a minor league deal. Last season, Biggio spent the 2024 campaign with three clubs and logged 78 total games in the majors. Across this stint, he held a .197/.314/.303 line with five doubles, five home runs, and a 24:72 BB:K ratio. Under the hood, Biggio generated a poor .256 xwOBA with a hefty 32.1% K rate. Biggo performed very well during his first two major league seasons (2019 and 2020) where he held an overall .240/.368/.430 line but has fallen below this mark in each season after. Fantasy managers should monitor Biggio's progress during Spring Training but given his struggles in the major leagues, the 29-year-old will likely spend most of the 2025 season in Triple-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The Atlanta Braves selected the contract of infielder Cavan Biggio from the minors on Wednesday and optioned infielder Luke Williams to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. Ozzie Albies (wrist) is still recovering from a fractured wrist, and now Whit Merrifield (foot) could be in danger of landing on the 10-day injured list if he doesn't recover soon after fouling a ball off his foot recently. For now, the 29-year-old Biggio should see ample time at the keystone in Atlanta as the team tries to secure one of the final wild-card spots in the National League over the last few weeks of the season. Biggio was acquired from the San Francisco Giants last weekend. He's unlikely to move the fantasy needle at all the last few weeks of the season after hitting .197/.316/.306 with five homers and 19 RBI in 74 combined games with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Cavan Biggio will make his team debut against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday. The 29-year-old is ready for game action with his new team after being designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week. Biggio has been awful at the plate this season, but figures to see playing time with the Dodgers shorthanded in the infield right now. Fantasy managers can continue to ignore him until he proves he can hit again.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Jeff Passan of ESPN.com has reported that the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired superutilityman Cavan Biggio from the Toronto Blue Jays. Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment last week after spending over five years with the franchise. Biggio struggled this season offensively and was hitting .200 with two homers and nine RBI over 110 at-bats this season. His addition to the Dodgers could mean that utilitymen, Enrique Hernandez or Chris Taylor could be replaced with Biggio. Regardless, none of the three hold value and can be left on the waiver wire for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
