Zack Wheeler Goes Eight Strong As Mets Win Again
5 years agoThe red-hot New York Mets won yet again, taking down the lowly Miami Marlins behind the arm of Zack Wheeler. The right-hander who was seemingly on his way out of Flushing prior to the trade deadline, went eight shutout innings, allowing eight hits and a walk while striking out five. The performance extended his scoreless innings streak to 15 since the Mets opted not to trade him. His record improved to 9-6 on the season after his third consecutive win. The Mets are now two games over .500 and remain right in the thick of the Wild Card race.
