5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco has been optioned to Triple-A on Sunday. Franco is hitting .231 with 15 home runs and 47 knocked in this season with the Phillies. He's been basically invisible with the bat since May, so this move is not surprising. Scott Kingery is expected to see most of the playing time at third base the rest of the way. Kingery hasn't been great with the bat lately, but he's a much better option than Franco.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
